Persians and burns

Thermal and chemical burns are distinguished.

Thermal burns (with fire, steam, boiling water)

Burns can be of different degrees: 1st-degree burn - redness, cutaneous swelling; second-degree burn - redness, clear blisters; third-degree burn - muddy blisters; fourth-degree burn - mortification of surface and deep tissues.

Your actions. If cat's hair catches fire, you need immediately throw her over cloth or throw water.

Light burn. Put on cold wet tampons for 5-10 minutes, changing them as soon as they warm up. If you have antiburn spray, pulverize it on the wound. Great folk remedy - to put on gauze absorbed with urine (yours). Shear the hair and manage the place around burn with vodka or washy spirit.

Appearance of clear blisters. You can't pierce the blisters. Drift spray or bandage with liniment of synthomycin, antiburn ointment. Folk remedy - put on the gauze, absorbed with urine.

Do the intramuscular injection of diphenhydramine hydrochloride (1 ml)

At hard burns (3rd- 4th degree) you need to do the first aid and bring the animal to the vet.

Chemical burns

Your actions. Wash the place of burn with running water richly during 5 minutes.

Acid. Put on the tampon wetted with the solution of baking soda (1 tea-spoon of soda for 1 glass of water).

Alkali. Put on the tampon wetted with three-percent solution of acetic acid, boric acid, lemon juice.

Shear the hair on the place of affection and put on the bandage with liniment of synthomycin or antiburn spray, ointment.

Do the intramuscular injection of diphenhydramine hydrochloride (1 ml)

At deep affection (thermal, chemical) do the intramuscular injection of gentamicin (0,5 ml twice a day) during 5 days.

Dress cat in "Elizabeth's collar" for her not to lick affected places.
