Ulcerations in the mouth usually develops there where integrity of top layer of mucous tunic is broken and affected part is inflamed and begin to gather. Most often the reason is an infection of cat's flu. Ulcer, because of which sialorrhea starts, usually appear near to the end of disease. Another prevailing reason is violation of function of immune system and stress. More often it is typical for she-cats at the age of about 6 years.

Symptoms

  • Red spots on the tongue or gums.
  • Cat feels difficulties while eating or refuses from food at all.

Causes

  • Viral infections of upper airways, for example, cat's flu.
  • Weakening of immunity, first of all caused by stress, is conductive to mucosal ulceration of mouth cavity, which were mistakenly ascribed to infection got from rodents – rats and mice.

What you and veterinary can do

  • Under the threat of development second bacterial infection veterinary will prescribe antibiotics.
  • Add raw liver, brewer's yeast and vitamins to the cat's ration.
  • Your cat will eat more food if you prepare it in grated state and warm it up.

Additional methods of treatment

Homeopathic remedies. Mucosa compositum 3-5 drops 1-2 times a day not less than one month. Cali bichromicum, 3 times a day during 1-1,5 months.
