You can't cause a vomit in the next cases: if cat has threw up already, she is inert, swallowed phosphorus (match heads), cleanser, acid, alcali (hydrate of sodium), if mineral oils (gasoline, kerosene, turpentine)are the reason of the poisoning.
How to cause the vomit
You can cause the vomit in such ways:
- with the solution of baking soda (1 tea-spoon for the glass of warm water);
- with strong solution of salt;
- three-percent hydrogen peroxyde (from 1 till 3 tea-spoons three times in every 10 minutes).
Good emetic is decoction of garden radish's leaves.
Pound the pill of activated carbon and prepare the mixture (to mix 1 part of activated carbon with 6 parts of water). Give cat to drink 4-8 spoons.
Give the covering remedies - milk, eggwhite, solution of glucose. During the first hour after poisoning you need to give the cat cloddy honey.
At the poisoning of phosphorus you can't give dairy produce.
If don't have opportunity to go to the vet then you can do the next recommendations: during 1-21 days 4-51 times a day - hypodermic injection of glucose 1 ml and isotonic solution 8 ml in one squirt, plus vitamin B12 0,5 ml once a day. During 2 days: once a day - intramuscular injection of diphenhydramine hydrochloride 0,5 ml.
How to give the medicine
Grasp the cat by the back of the neck, raise a little up, from spoon od squirt pour preparation in the mouth, carefully, for cat not to choke, directing the stream in the root of the tongue (medicine is given a little at time, not more than one drink, i. e. the second portion is given after cat swallowing the first).
When cat resists, medicine is given by two people.
One person hold the cat's head with one hand, with the other he pulls aside the cheek. The other person raise the cat's face a little up and pour the medicine in.
