Persians and sinusitis
Sinusitis is an inflammation of one or several paranasal sinuses. Cats have it seldom at this it more typical for Siamese and other east breeds. If the infection gets in these cavities, mucous tunic is inflamed that causes sharp painful feelings to the cat, making difficulties for breathing. Chronic infections of respiratory ways occurs rather often, especially after cat's flu.

Symptoms

  • Discharges from the nose, often containing pus
  • Often sneezing
  • Loss of appetite
  • Appearance of third eyelid.

Causes

  • Latent complications after cat's flu.
  • Affections with funguses like Aspergillus.
  • Abscess of tooth hole on the upper jaw.
  • Chronic viral or bacterial infection.
  • Cancer of nasal sinuses.

What you and veterinary can do

  • You can drop salt solution in the cat's nose, for its preparing you need to dissolve 1 table-spoon of salt in 250 ml of water. Drop 2-3 drops 2-3 times a day in every nostril.
  • More radical method consists in ablution of sinuses with solution containing antibiotic. If maxillary sinus was affected in the result of inflammation of tooth, it is important to remove the main reason of disease, removing ill tooth.

Additional methods of treatment

Homeopathic remedies. The best effect is achieved by interchange of preparations Traumel and Echinacea compositum every 2 weeks. Draughts: 3-5 drops twice a day.
