Persian cats colors
Colors of Color-Points are called not because of their basic color of hair, but because of color of marks. The most widespread and cognate, owing to Siamese cats, is color Seal-Point or with mink marks. Genetically this color corresponds to black, but looks like different. Hair on the body is of equal light beige color - color of ivory, chest and stomach are a little bit lighter. Marks are of mink color as fur of seal (fur seal) or like black chocolate. The lobe of the nose and pads are mink. Dark mask surely covers nose and eyes, comes to ears, but separate from them by more light stripe. Chin can be colored, can stay light, and then mask turns into half-mask, what makes the face be more mysterious.

Variations of Seal-Point are Blue-Point (with blue marks), Chocolate-Point ( with chocolate marks) and Lilac-Point (with lilac marks). Blue-Point has hair on the body of ice color, on the chest and stomach are of warmer white tone. Marks, tip of the nose and pads are silver-blue. Chocoloate-Point differs from Seal-Point with lighter (sometimes almost white) color of basic color, and he has marks of warm milky-chocolate color. Pads and tip of the nose are light brownish-pink. Lilac-Point has body of magnolia color or icy-white. Marks are grey, "in hoar-frost", with pink tint. Tip of the nose and pads are lavender with pink.

Inspite of Color-Points with chocolate and lilac marks were accepted one of the first, Chocoloate- and Lilac-Points have had a competitive ability recently. Genetics of these colors is rather dificult. That's why few selectionists had courage to work with them. Perfected type of chocoloate and lilac-points is direct result of these breeders' work.

In the result of crossing Choclate and Lilac-Points with one-colored Persians new colore variations of Persians were suddenly received - Chocolate and Lilac. In Europe such cats are accepted as color variation of Persians, and in Nothern America they are considered to be equally colored Himalayan and Kashmirian cats. The last time Red and Cream-Points, i. e. Color-Points with red and cream marks, begin to gain big popularity. It is really difficult to resist their charm - bue eyes, quite snow-white luxurious coat and red or cream pads, tail and mask on the face. Tail is more intensively colored from the top and almost white from bottom, and mask is more like ruddiness under the eyes at first, and only with time, till 2-3 years it spreads over the whole face. Red and Cream-Points are less usual for visiters of shows than Seal-Points and that's why it often has to explain that this is not just white cat with unwashed eyes and dirty pads and that his snow-white coat and blue eyes can;t be the reason of deafness, because they owe different genes their creation than pure white cats with blue eyes. Breeders and experts of cats are interested in colored cats with tortoiseshell marks - mink and chocolate with red, blue and lilac with cream. The same as traditional Persians with similar color, cats Torti-Point are indispensable in pedigree breeding. Besides, sudden, accidental position of spots on Points gives them original charm.

All colores listed above with combination with gene agouti give striped, or lynx, marks. Hair on the body of Lynx-Points is little bit lighter, and tabby-picture is good seen on the marks, in particular around eyes, nose and on the cheeks. Eyes and tips of ears outlined with wite stripes, lower part of the tail is pure white too. Distinct stripes on the tail and front side of pads. Upturned letter "M" on the forehead and pink lobe of the nose, outlined with rick-red edging. Well, aren't they magnificent? Lynx-Point is the most popular color of Color-Points, but it is one of the most difficult. Combination of gene agouti with genes of Siamese color often leads to "domestication" of type or as breeders says, "draw noses and ears". That's why the receiving of Lynx-Points with ideal Persian type is a dream of every selectionist, working at this work, and reached this is honor and praise!

At the combination of al colores of Color-Points listed above with inhibiting gene ("smoke" gene) Color-Points with smoke spots are received. These colors are accepted with not all phelinological associations for now, but they give wide sphere of action for experiments to selectionists.
